16 Dares

Dare to live passionately
Dare to dream big and to put time and energy into making that  dream a reality
Dare to build a fine, fit body
Dare to nourish the mind and spirit
Dare to shun rigidity and keep an open, inquisitive mind
Dare to expect the best from ourselves and other people
Dare to find something to love in every person
Dare to set goals that are too big for us and then to grow and stretch to fulfill them
Dare to fill our heart and home with faith , hope, love and gratitude
Dare to live with a sense of wonder
Dare to live life vulnerably
Dare to write down 200 victories in our life since our birth
Dare to create and build a personal-strength notebook
Dare to build on our strengths
Dare to be a “go-giver”
Dare to compete with our own goals and possibilities

As part of a quote from the movie 'Coach Carter', "Our greatest fear is not that we are not inadequate but that we are powerful beyond measure..."

We need to conquer our fear with courage and Dare to reach our full potential. How else will we do ourselves justice?

These 16 dares are arrows that pierce through the bubble, our fear.

All true motivation is self-motivation to action. Acquiring the skills of self-motivation to action and making it a habit is not easy, but it is doable. Every one of us has the potential inside. Sometimes it takes a master motivator to unlock that potential in us. So I believe in by following 16 dares will help us acquire the skills of motivation and also believe in Andrew to help us unlock that potential.

This reminds me of the journey I took when I achieved my Toastmasters International Competent Communicator award. There are 10 projects to complete to achieve this award and I realized that the last 3 projects stretches me the most as I need to think of a topic to present.

I learned that in order to reach my goals, I need to stretch myself and sometimes it involves sleeping at 3am and waking up the next morning at 7am to work, which is exactly what I did for my last 3 projects. It's not easy but it is POSSIBLE.

Of course, there are times that I wanted to give up, say sorry and walk away. However, when I think about how near I am to the Goal, I bite the bullet and carry on. Moreover, members from Siglap Toastmasters Club would "kill" me if I give up the last minute as everyone is putting every ounce of effort to help the club achieve it's target of being a Distinguish club.

These 16 dares reminds me to stretch myself and be daring enough to achieve the Goal which I thought was too high for me.

DARE TO DREAM. IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING!

It takes people with guts to fulfill even just one of the dares. It is inspiring and develops a person to make a difference in other people's lives.

Worthy cause: I felt a sense of satisfaction and purpose in my life whenever I'm able to help someone in times of crisis and when they need help the most.

I felt that everyone should lead a purpose-driven life. We need to find out what on earth are we here for?

Only when we know the answer, we will live a life with a purpose.
